Fun and Musical Things to do in Roswell Before School Starts!



The first day of school is August 7 for the Fulton County Schools in Roswell. To help you and your entire family make the most out of these last exciting summer days, here are a few fun, musical and cool events in Roswell!

Crazy Love Coffeehouse Concerts- July 21 and 28

Meet me in St. Louis Musical- July 29 and 30
RUMC’s Acting Up presents Meet Me in St. Louis featuring a 22-piece live orchestra! This charming musical contains memorable musical and dance numbers! Shows are from 1:00-3:00 p.m. (July 29) and 4:00-6:30 p.m. (July 30).

Riverside Sounds Concert- August 5
Riverside Sounds Concert Series is produced by the City of Roswell’s Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department! August 5 will feature Rob Ickles and Trey Hensley! Guests are invited to bring picnic baskets and chairs. Food trucks will be open at 6 p.m.

13th Annual Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ – August 27
Enjoy good old-fashioned summertime fun! Taste over 100 homemade ice cream flavors and beat the heat at Roswell Historic Town Square Park, 600 Atlanta St., Roswell.  Music, ice cream contests with prizes and a Kids Corner with face painting and a bouncy house are from 2:00 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $6 per person  or $25 per family (up to six members). Chattahoochee Nature Center Fun for all Ages



Roswell's Chattahoochee Nature Center is Atlanta’s nature destination with community events for children, family and adults. Enjoy wildlife programs, hiking, environmental education, horticulture and check out the summer concerts that occur in this natural setting! Here are some fun events for adults and children alike!

Butterfly Encounter
Get up close and personal with hundreds of native butterflies surrounded by colorful nectar plants. Photo opportunities abound so be sure to bring your camera. This special outdoor exhibit is open daily until 4:30 p.m. from now until July 31. The Butterfly Encounter is included with general admission and free to CNC members, and perfect for the whole family!

Story Time by the River
Storytellers encourage audience participation by acting out storybook characters. With nature crafts, stories, songs and audience participation, the best nature stories will come alive! Story Time by the River is every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. and is included with general admission and free to CNC members.


River Canoe Trips
Did you know it is 10 degrees cooler on the water? Come take a leisurely evening paddle with experienced canoe guides while learning about the Chattahoochee River! Great for all ages, this river trip can be your first time paddle or a relaxing way to reconnect with the river. All equipment is provided. Paddles are from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and run from now until August 27. Cost is $30 per person or $25 for CNC members.
